falsehood draft hypothesis

Idle means there is no work

The belief that throughput is bounded by available work rather than by whatever happens to wake the process. Drafted here as a falsehood to bind evidence to; nothing is established yet.

Before concluding a loop is starved of work, check what wakes it, because a scheduler that only runs you on an interrupt makes an unrelated interrupt source part of your performance envelope.

Scores

Editorial judgements on a 0 to 10 scale, argued in the notes below and nowhere else. They order a list. They are not evidence and they never appear in a claim.

Notes

Draft. The candidate that would bind to it is the program said to run faster while the mouse moves, which is probably several distinct real stories that retelling has merged into one composite. The first job on that lead is to split it, and each resulting incident may bind here or may not.
