falsehood draft hypothesis

A wire to nowhere does nothing

The belief that an open circuit is electrically inert, so a component wired to nothing can be ignored. Drafted here as a falsehood to bind evidence to; nothing is established yet.

Treat an unexplained physical change as a real input until measured, because not connected is a claim about a schematic and not about a circuit.

Scores

Editorial judgements on a 0 to 10 scale, argued in the notes below and nowhere else. They order a list. They are not evidence and they never appear in a claim.

Notes

Draft, and the hardest of the five to do honestly. The candidate that would bind to it is the MIT magic switch, whose charm is precisely that the mechanism was never pinned down, which is the shape of story this repository is most at risk of repeating. wtf 10 is the highest in the catalog and that should be read as a warning rather than a recommendation: the better the story scores here, the more carefully its evidence needs checking.
